So very easy to forget about your skin, Cleansing is such an important part in your routine more so during the festive season. So come on girls even if it is 2am clean your skin and for extra points drink a large glass of water – The morning after, your skin will thank you for it!!

1.Cleansing
My biggest most effective tip– remove your make-up before you go to bed!  Your skin goes to work at night and this gives it a chance to breathe and repair, foundations and blushers can block your pores and can lead breakouts and premature skin ageing.

Too tired, too drunk! Use a facial wash & hot mitt to give a quick cleanse to remove make up and at least pop some face oil on the skin for some moisture.

2.Nutrition
Good skin starts within, your skin is what you eat!!! I know very hard to maintain during the festive season. Start your day with fibre;(Bran flakes& banana or Beans on Brown toast) it will keep you regular and help clear out your system of toxins . Make sure you eat a healthy meal that is high in protein something like chicken & vegetables before heading out. By doing this, you’ll have more energy and will be less likely to be tempted by a late-night kebab on the way home.

3.Alcohol
Causes skin dehydration and dryness, and dilates the blood vessels in your skin, making it look red and blotchy. Try switching to a skinny bitch!! (vodka, soda water & fresh lime). Great idea is to sneak a glass of water when it is your round at the bar!!

4.The morning after
Too much alcohol, poor diet & not enough sleep all lead to lifeless skin. You need to hit the hydration hard the morning after. Drink a large mug of hot water with lemon  to flush the body of toxins. To combat dehydration of the skin, use an intensive mask my favourite is – Dermalogica AGE Smart™ Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque helps to repair and restore damaged skin, whilst oat kernel is anti-inflammatory moisturising, soothing and calming. Formulated with vitamins A, C, E and F, and panthenol I apply this at night and sleep in it,

5.Stress
If you’re stressed, it will show in your skin. Stress releases chemicals, such as cortisol and adrenaline, which draw nutrients, oxygen and blood away from the skin to feed our vital organs, leaving skin looking dull.

Try & find time to exercise as this is  a great way of tackling stress, releasing feel-good chemicals that help you to feel calm and in control, so your skin is more likely to behave.

6.Sleep
At the end of the day –  no amount of skin care product can substitute for a good night’s sleep. Lack of it can lead to dark circles and dull lifeless skin. Sleeping allows your skin to rest and rejuvenate itself.
