CE Ferulic – and why we call it Liquid Gold!

So what does it do for your skin? Vitamin C is widley recognised as being a superior anti oxidant with visible anti ageing benefits across a wide range of concerns, including wrinkles, laxity and skin discoloration. This one was 10 years in the making and has been shown to effectively neutralise free radicals and help protect against oxidative stress.

Vitamin C can be synthetically derived or found naturally in citrus fruits, unlike other vitamins, we humans are not able to naturally create vitamin C and have to acquire it through diet, supplementation or topically as in a vitamin C serum.

Are they all equal? Well no, Vitamin C comes in a variety of forms – you can get pure vitamin C and vitamin C derivatives.

Skinceuticals use the most effective form L-Ascorbic acid (pure vitamin C)

In clincial studies derivatives of ascorbic acid including magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, ascorbyl-6-palmitate, and dehydroascorbic acid have not been shown to be as effective as pure vitamin C. All skinceuticals antioxidants are formulated with pure L-ascorbic acid in accordance with the Duke Antioxidant patent.

This is a best seller in my clinic so much so that I gifted a miniture to one of my favourite clients and she called me the next day asking “How much is that serum – I am assuming it is expensive as it feels like Liquid Gold on my skin”? It is now a firm favourite in her skincare regime, I have to say it is one of the products I can’t do without I just love it!

Is it expensive I hear you ask? It retails at £140.00 but you do only use it in the morning to it does last a good 3-4 months.

A big thanks to our Skinceuticals guy Thom Klein as he did the research for this blog, as always thanks for reading. Mary x
